일제 강점기,
꽃다운 나이에
모진 고통을 겪어야 했던
일본군 '위안부' 피해자들을
우리는 기억합니다.
그들의 고결한 자존을
기억하고 지켜내고자
춘천시민의
뼈 아픈 마음을 담아
이곳에
춘천 평화의 소녀상을 세웁니다.
We commemorate comfort women,
the victims of sexual slavery,
as victims of brutal exploitation
inflicted by the japanese army on young,
flowerily beautiful
and innocent Korean women during
the period of Japanese colonization.
This Statue of Peace at Chuncheon City invites
all citizens to remember
these women with a sincere
and hearbroken mind
and keep their lofty
and noble dignity.
