Son Daehyung / Then aged 19 Presidential Citation (Mar. 1,2020) Gogeum, Wando county From Jun 29, 1911 to Feb. 25, 1975] Graduating from Gogeum Public Primary School in Wando county in March 1930. he entered Yeosu Public Fisheries School in April. On July 19, he joined the book club, a secret organization for anti Japanese struggle. In the second unit. of the first year in the book club, he engaged in activities resisting Japanese. suppressive colonial rule and colonial education and got arrested by Japanese police in September 1930. In the same year, he got released from prison by the suspension of prosecution on December 20, got expelled from the school, and started to work for Yeosu Youth Vanguard Union, an organization for the Anti Japanese Movement. Returning home in 1936, he got married and worked for his family business. Later he passed the national medical examination atter Korea's liberation from Japanese rule and worked in Wando, county as a community doctor.
