Hill 303 of Jack-O is the historic battlefield where the fierce last defence line battle of Waegwan and Nakdong River of Korean War was fought.
This is the place where the soliders of U.S 1st Cavalry Division bravely fought to defeat the North Korean communist invader by sacrificing their countless lives. Also, at this site, 40 POW of U.S 5th Regiment were brutally massacred by North Korean soliders on 17 August 1950.
This monument is erected to remember the spirit of their noble sacrifice of those countless fallen heros who foungt to defend the peace and freedom of South Korea.
